In Collaboration with the International Organization, Quran Teaching Committee Holds a Quran Competition for Syrian Refugees in the Participation of 520 Students
In collaboration with the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization, HQMI, Quran teaching committee has held the second Quran competition for Syrian refugees at Syrian Scholars League in Turkey in which 520 students have participated. The competition consists of 6 categories: memorizing the entire Quran by three narrations, memorizing the entire Quran by Hafs narration, memorizing 20 Juz', 10 Juz', 5 Juz' and reciting the entire Quran. A jury was formed for this competition consists of a number of Sheikhs and specialists in Quran and its sciences. After the finalists, an honoring ceremony was held for the participants attended by the chairman of Islamic Council Sheikh Usama Alrefaie, Mufti of Gaziantep Sheikh Ahmed Jelik, the general-secretary of Syrian Scholars League Sheikh Muhammad Yassir Almusdi, the representative of HQMI Sheikh Khalid Abdul-Kafi, a number of Syrian Quran Sheikhs and a gathering of the refugees, students and their parents. The ceremony has started with a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by some delivered speeches in which speakers expressed their happiness and joy for having such a competition as well as spoke about the virtue of Quran and its memorizers pointing out to its importance for the Muslim communities. Also, they thanked the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz and the organizers of the competition as well as HQMI for its great effort in serving Quran and its memorizers in different countries all over the world. Then, prizes were distributed amongst the best students and participants.
