The International Organization Holds a Quran Competition in Cambodia
In collaboration with the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization, HQMI, and the International Organization for Human Development in Riyadh, the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Cambodia has held a Quran competition in which 134 students participated. It consists of 6 categories: memorizing the entire Quran, 20, 15, 10, 5 and 3 Juz’. The activities were supervised by a jury headed by Sheikh Hussain Ali Basaeed and membership of five members. At the end of the finalists, an honoring ceremony was held for the participants attended by the Mufti of Cambodia Sheikh Qamar Aldeen bin Yusuf, the minister of the state and the deputy of Mufti Mr. Zakaria Adam, the chairman of Muslims Development Foundation Mr. Uthman Hussain, the member of Sheikhs Council Mr. Muhammed Marwan, a number of those who are interested in Quran matters, Muslim countries ambassadors, the representative of HQMI Sheikh Hussain Ali Basaeed, teachers, students and their parents and a gathering of citizens. The ceremony has started with a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by some delivered speeches in which speakers have thanked the organizers as well as congratulated the winners of students recommending them to carry on memorizing and mastering the Quran. They have also thanked HQMI for the great effort they exert in serving the Holy Quran as well as pointed out to the great role that the government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays in serving Muslims all over the world and for their caring of the Holy Quran and its sciences. At the end, prizes were distributed amongst the winners.
