The Holy Quran Memorization International Organization (HQMI) holds a Quran competition in collaboration with the Holy Quran and its Sciences Memorization Association in Cameroon
HQMI has held in collaboration with the Holy Quran and its Sciences Memorization Association in Cameroon a Quran competition in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Centre in Yaounde in which 65 competitors have participated. It consists of five categories: memorizing the entire Quran along with the seven recitatios, memorizing the entire Quran along with words meanings, memorizing the entire Quran along with Al Jazariyah, memorizing the entire Quran along with 100 Hadiths of Riyadh Al Saliheen and memorizing the entire Quran for young memorizers. This was under the supervision of a jury headed by Sheikh Abu Bakr Umar Abdulwahed and four other members. Moreover, an honoring ceremony was held for the competitors attended by Yaounde governorate deputy governor, the sponsor of the ceremony, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al Sumait, the representative of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques embassy in Yanounde, Sheikh Muhammad bin Abduh bin Ismail, the director of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque centre in Yanounde, Sheikh Ibrahim Wafa, the chairman of Al Azhar scholarship and a number of scholars, chairmen of Islamic organizations, directors and teachers of schools, memorizers of the Holy Quran and a gathering of citizens. The ceremony has started with a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by delivered speeches in which the speakers expressed their happiness and joy attending this great occasion as well as praised the Holy Quran and its sciences memorization organization and lauded the great role that HQMI plays in serving the Holy Quran and its memorizers all over the world, in Cameroon in particular. They have also pointed out to the great effort exerted by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques leaded by King Salman bin Abdulaziz (may Allah bless him) in serving Islam and Muslims all around the world as well as congratulated the memorizers in their speeches and encouraged them to exert more effort in memorizing and mastering the Holy Quran following its teachings. At the end of the ceremony, gifts and prizes were distributed to the winners of the memorizers.
