In collaboration with the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization (HQMI), under the auspices of Earlier Governor of Sultan Qudrat Mr. Ahmad Datoo; Obay Bin-Kaab Institute for the memorization of the Holy Qur’an and The Holy Quran Memorizers association in Philippines organized a Holy Quran Contest with the participation of 144 memorizers, males and females. The contest included eight branches: the complete memorization of the entire Holy Quran with Al Jazariyah Tajweed Poem , the complete memorization of the entire Holy Quran with 100 Hadith from Imam An-Nawawi’s Riyad-as-Salihin, the complete memorization of the entire Holy Quran with Quranic Terminology, the complete memorization of the entire Holy Quran with Tajweed, the memorization of twenty parts of the Holy Quran, the memorization of ten parts, the memorization of five parts and the memorization of two parts. A jury panel for the activities of the contest was held under the supervision of Sheikh Khalid Othman HQMI Organization's representative and another four members. Then, a honorary ceremony was held to honor the memorizers which was attended by Earlier Governor of Sultan Qudrat Mr. Ahmad Tokaw, Dr Anas Karazoon the director of TV programs and conferences in the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization (HQMI), Mr. Rasheed Awabed HQMI Organization's supervisor. Moreover, it was attended by HQMI Organization's representative Sheikh Khalid Othman, in addition to a number of some Ulamas, Scholars, Teachers, students and some citizens. The ceremony started with the recitation some verses of The Holy Quran.
After that, some speeches were delivered in which speakers commended the contest organizers. They lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s role under the leadership of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz and his Crown prince; Prince Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz in serving Islam and Muslims. They also commended all the efforts exerted by The Holy Quran Memorizing International Organization (HQMI) in serving the Holy Quran all over the world and great services which the HQMI to the memorizers and the students of the Holy Qur'an. They highly commended Dr Abdullah Basfar the General Secretary of The Holy Quran Memorizing International Organization (HQMI). At the close of the ceremony, prizes and gifts were distributed among the winners.
