Under the Auspices of the Organization (23) Memorizers Participated in Obay Bin-Kaab Institute Contest in Uganda
Under the auspices of the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization (HQMI) , Obay Bin-Kaab Institute for the memorization of the Holy Qur’an in Uganda held a Quranic Contest. Twenty-three memorizers participated in the contest. The contest included the complete memorization of the entire Holy Quran with Al Jazariyah Tajweed Poem and the complete memorization of the entire Holy Quran for young children and adults.
A Jury panel (comprising of 5 members) supervised the activities of the contest. An honorary ceremony was held to honor the participants. It was attended by Sheikh Saad Habib Kawessa, member of the Parliament of Islamic Supreme Council of Uganda, Sheikh Harun Matovu, the judge of Jaynuga District, Sheikh Ibrahim Habib Wandira, Judge of Busia District , and His Eminence Dr. Ali Badawi Salman, the head of Al-Azhari Islamic Mission to Uganda.
The event was attended as well by Sheikh Mubarak Abtahi, the delegate of Chargé d’Affaires of the embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa Ahmad Shoaib, HQMI Organization's representative in addition to a number of the public figures concerned with the Quranic events and issues, Noble Quran scholars and teachers, Quran memorizers their parents and some citizens.
The ceremony was inaugurated with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. Then several speakers delivered their speeches in which they expressed their pleasure to attend this great event and thanked the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for its support and encouragement of the Quranic contests throughout the world. They also thanked HQMI Organization, chaired by Dr. Abdullah Basfar, for all the efforts exerted in serving the Holy Koran. At the close of the ceremony, gifts and prizes were distributed among the winners.
